Welcome to Menus and Meals, a fresh new way to look at food! The purpose of Menus and Meals is to promote healthy eating that is quick, easy, affordable and tastes great! So what is good nutrition? Eating foods that have nutritional value, not simply empty calories. Good nutrition includes makeing wise choices. Avoid "white foods" such as white bread, white rice and flour tortillas and instead choose whole grain breads and crackers, brown rice and corn or wheat tortillas. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables, and lean meats such as grilled or baked chicken, turkey, pork and lean cuts of beef. Keep sugar sweetened beverages, juices and snacks to a minimum. We have heard all of this before. While this may sound "preachy", boring and not particularly tasty, the purpose of this site is to show you that healthy eating can be both affordable and tasty.
